The Centre is situated on the outskirts of Kandy town in Sri Lanka, at the back of the Udawatakele natural forest reserve and within walking distance of the Buddhist Publication Society.

From Colombo Airport


Take bus to 'Fort' railway station, which runs 4 trains daily to Kandy, taking between 3 to 5 hours for the journey. Near to the railway station is the central bus stand, with local buses leaving regularly for Kandy, needing about 4 to 6 hours. The 'intercity express' bus does the same in less than 3 hours

To Lewella

From Kandy railway station take a three-wheeler (approx.200,- Rupies) to the Lewella Meditation Centre, or else walk to 'clock tower', then to 'tooth temple', keep following the Anagarika Dharmapala road, soon after passing a petrol shed you will find 'Lewella' road moving down on the left side, which leads after some sharp curves to 'Dharmashoka' road, again on your left side. It is also possible to take a taxi straight from the airport (approx.6000,- Rupies) to the Lewella Meditation Centre
